Privacy notice.

ProFocus Realty (“we”, “us”) is a property photography and film studio founded and run by Zack Williams. For the purposes of UK data protection law Zack Williams, trading as ProFocus Realty, is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.

We are a small studio and work on location rather than from an office, so there is no public address to write to. Zack handles every enquiry and every data protection request personally, by email or telephone — the details are in section 11.

We only collect what you choose to give us. Through the enquiry form on this website that is:

• Your name — so we know who we are replying to.
• Your email address — so we can reply.
• The property and its location — optional, so we can quote accurately.
• The service you are interested in — optional.
• Anything you write in the message field — please don’t include sensitive personal information here; we don’t need it.

If you email or telephone us instead, we hold whatever you send us in that message. A call leaves your number on Zack’s mobile.

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not profile visitors or make automated decisions about them. If you choose to play a film hosted on YouTube, YouTube receives your IP address and browser information — see section 07.

We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you go on to commission us, to carry out that work.

• Answering your enquiry — our legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): you contacted us, and replying is what you would reasonably expect.
• Delivering a commission — performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
• Keeping records for tax and accounting — legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).

We will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of an enquiry, and we will not send you marketing unless you ask us to.

• Enquiries that don’t become work — deleted within 12 months.
• Client project records — kept for the life of the engagement and then for 6 years, to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements.
• Photographs and film — archived so we can re-supply them to the client. See Your property and your images below.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. Only Zack Williams reads your enquiry.

Two suppliers handle it on our behalf on the way to us:

If you telephone instead, your number reaches Zack’s mobile through his network operator and is held on that phone. Nothing about a call is put into any other system.

Transfers outside the UK. Microsoft holds the mailbox for our UK account in its UK datacentres. Netlify is a United States company, so a copy of what you submit through the form is stored outside the UK. Both suppliers are engaged under their standard data processing terms, which incorporate the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses — that is the safeguard we rely on under Article 46 of the UK GDPR wherever data does leave the UK.

Beyond these, we would share personal information only where the law requires it — for example a lawful request from a public authority.

Photographs of a home can identify the people who live there, and an address alongside a price says something about their circumstances. We treat that seriously.

• We photograph a property only with the owner’s or instructing agent’s permission.
• We ask separately before using any image of a property in our own portfolio or on social media, and we will withdraw it on request.
• We avoid capturing identifiable people, vehicle registrations and personal documents. If something like that appears in a frame, tell us and we will remove or retouch it.

We set no cookies of our own. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no profiling. Nothing on this site identifies you or follows you between visits.

There is one category of non-essential storage, and it is off until you switch it on.

What we store

How the choice works

On your first visit a bar asks whether to allow the film players. Declining is exactly as easy as allowing — two buttons, side by side, same size. Nothing is pre-selected, and closing the page without choosing is not treated as agreement.

• If you allow: pressing play on a film loads YouTube’s player in the page, and YouTube may set the storage described above. It receives your IP address and information about your browser and device.
• If you decline, or have not chosen: no request is made to YouTube or Google at all. Pressing a film offers you the choice again, or a link to watch it on YouTube in a new tab, where their terms apply instead of ours. Every other part of this site works normally.

We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), which reduces what is set but does not remove it. Google is the controller for what it does with that data — see Google’s privacy policy.

Changing your mind

You can change your answer at any time, from any page, using Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing is as straightforward as giving it. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, which resets everything including our record of your choice.

Nothing else on this site needs your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
• have inaccurate information corrected;
• ask us to delete information we no longer need;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it;
• ask for the information you gave us in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.

To exercise any of these, email us using the address below. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator:
